Announcing the American Premiere of Maggie the Musical

MAGGIE, a new musical co-created by Johnny Reid and Matt Murray will make its American premiere as part of Goodspeed Musicals‘ 2024 season! Directed by Mary Francis Moore, MAGGIE will run August 23 to October 20 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, CT. In its 50+ year history, Goodspeed Musicals has achieved international acclaim. It has launched 85 new musicals and from its stage, 21 musicals have gone on to Broadway. Goodspeed Musicals is the first theatre in the United States to receive two Tony Awards for outstanding achievement in musical theatre.

MAGGIE premiered in Canada in Spring 2023 with a hugely successful, nearly sold-out run at Hamilton, Ontario's Theatre Aquarius. It then went on to headline the celebrated Charlottetown Festival at PEI's Confederation Centre of the Arts and wrapped up at Cape Breton's Savoy Theatre in the fall of 2023.

Intermission Magazine called it "Canada's next musical theatre phenomenon" while the Hamilton Spectator described it as "an irresistably poignant piece".

MAGGIE was written by Johnny Reid and Matt Murray, with music by Johnny Reid, Matt Murray and Bob Foster. It is produced by Johnny Reid and the originating producer of the hit Broadway musical, Come From Away, Michael Rubinoff.
